Buying PDF Downloads

We now offer some titles to purchase as PDF downloads - buying a PDF means you can save money and be able to download and read your book as soon as you have paid. Frequently asked questions

What is a PDF and do I need any special software to view it?
PDF stands for Portable Document Format - it is an electronic version of the print edition that you can view on your computer. To view the PDF files, you will need the free Adobe Reader software, which you can download at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

How do I order a PDF download?
Browse the site as normal - in each individual book page, the available editions are shown in the top right corner. If 'Download edition' is shown, then just add it to your basket as you would a normal print edition. Please note that we cannot currently process orders containing a combination of downloadable and standard print editions.

How do I receive my PDF?
When you have paid online for your order, we will send you an email that contains a link to your personal download page for your order, together with a PIN to access the PDFs. You will also receive passwords for each PDF in your order - you will need these to open the PDFs when you have downloaded them.

Can I print the PDF?
Yes, you are allowed to print the PDF for your own personal use. However, you are not allowed to distribute multiple printed copies - if you would like to do so, please contact Angela Spall for information on obtaining a site license.

Can I distribute the PDF to my colleagues?
As above, the PDF document is licensed for your own personal use and should not be distributed. Of course, if you have a printed copy of the PDF you may share this with your colleagues as you would a normal printed edition, as long as only one copy exists at any one time.

Can I buy a site license?
Yes, please contact Angela Spall for information on obtaining a site license.

What if I lose the PDF document?
You will always be able to revisit your personal download page and download the PDF again, so be sure to keep the link and PIN number safe. If you have lost the original email containing the link and PIN number, please contact orders@thorogoodpublishing.co.uk and we will send it to you again.

A book I am interested in is not available as a PDF.
We are currently in the process of making our special reports available as PDF downloads - if you would like to buy a report that is not currently available, please contact Angela Spall and we will try to add it to our library. We do not currently offer our hardback and paperback books as PDF downloads, but please let us know if you are interested as we may review this in the future.

The shopping basket page tells me that I cannot buy download and printed editions together.
Because our PDF downloads and printed editions are fulfilled by different facilities, we are afraid that we cannot offer a combination within the same order. Please order separately; we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Terms and conditions

By purchasing PDF download(s) from this site, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

• Each PDF you download is licensed to you and may not be distributed to others.
• Only one printed copy of each PDF you download may exist at any one time.
• The password that you receive with each PDF may not be distributed to others, either with or without the actual PDF document.
• No attempt will be made to circumvent the encryption of the PDF document facilitated by the password.
• You may not extract (or attempt to extract) text, images or any other content from the PDF for any use whatsoever.
